Today, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted the law "On Amendments to Parts One, Two and Four of the Civil Code."
The law establishes the basic concept of “digital rights” - special binding and other rights, the content and conditions for the implementation of which are determined in accordance with the rules of the information system.
What does this mean for cryptocurrency and blockchain users?
- It will be possible with the law to sign electronic contracts, send legally significant notifications and vote in absentia at meetings.
- With the entry into force of the law, legal entities and individuals working with “digital assets” will receive guarantees that their rights will be respected.
Recall that the law will enter into force on October 1, 2019.
